COSMETIC DENTISTRY
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a method of removing stains from the surface of the tooth and returning the teeth to their natural colour.
The teeth are first cleaned and inspected to determine the severity of the staining.
The whitening agent is then applied only onto the teeth, excluding the gums.
If teeth are severely stained, then a few more days of treatment may be necessary.
Depending on the severity of the stains on the teeth the whole procedure takes about 60 minutes.
Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite resin that are attached to the front surfaces of the teeth to improve appearance.
During the first visit, the dentist will examine the teeth and take impressions or digital scans to be used as a template for the veneers.
The teeth may also be slightly prepared by removing a small amount of enamel to make room for the veneers.
During the second visit, the permanent veneers will be attached to the teeth using a special cement and will be carefully adjusted.
The veneers are shaped to ensure a natural and comfortable fit and will be polished to match the sheen of the surrounding teeth.
Orthodontic Braces
Orthodontic braces are devices used to straighten and align the teeth and correct misaligned bites.
There are several types of orthodontic braces, including traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, and clear aligners.
Orthodontic treatment can take several months to few years, depending on the severity of the misalignment.
The patient will need to visit the orthodontist regularly for adjustments to the braces.
After the braces are removed, the patient may need to wear a retainer to help maintain the alignment of the teeth.
